Professional Pet Grooming in Doha
Qatar's climate makes regular grooming more important than in cooler countries. Heat, humidity, and AC create conditions where matting, skin issues, and coat problems develop faster. Regular professional grooming isn't a luxury — it's part of keeping your pet healthy.
Pet Glow offers professional grooming for cats and dogs in Doha, open 1PM–10PM daily. Book via WhatsApp.
What Happens During a Grooming Session
A standard grooming session at Pet Glow includes:
Bath and dry — breed-appropriate shampoo, blow-dry or towel dry depending on coat type. We use gentle, pet-safe products.
Brush and de-shed — removes loose undercoat, reduces shedding at home significantly. Especially important for double-coated breeds like Huskies and Golden Retrievers that struggle in Qatar's heat.
Haircut / trim — to your specification. Bring a photo if you have a specific style in mind.
Nail trim — overgrown nails cause posture and joint problems. Most pets need this every 4–6 weeks.
Ear cleaning — important in Qatar's dusty environment. We check for signs of infection and clean gently.
Eye area clean — especially for flat-faced breeds (Persians, Shih Tzus, Bulldogs).
How to Prepare Your Pet for Grooming
First-time pets: Let your pet sniff grooming tools at home beforehand. Keep the first session shorter — a bath and brush, not a full cut — so the experience is positive.
Anxious pets: Tell us when you book. We adjust our approach and take more time for nervous animals. Never force a distressed pet through grooming — it makes future sessions harder.
Before the appointment:
How Often Does My Pet Need Grooming?
Long-haired cats (Persian, Maine Coon): Every 4–6 weeks. Without regular grooming, matting becomes painful and sometimes requires sedation to remove.
Short-haired cats: Every 8–12 weeks is sufficient for most. More frequent if they shed heavily.
Long-haired dogs (Golden Retriever, Shih Tzu, Maltese): Every 4–6 weeks.
Short-haired dogs (Labrador, Boxer): Every 8–12 weeks, primarily for nail trim and de-shedding.
Double-coated breeds in Qatar (Husky, Malamute): Every 4 weeks minimum. Their undercoat does not self-regulate in Qatar's heat the way it does in cold climates.
